Eligibility Criteria

Applications for the EU Scholarship Programme for Cypriot Youth at UWC are now closed! The information listed on this page is purely for general knowledge.

To apply to the scholarships funded under the EU Scholarship Programme for Cypriot Youth at UWC you must meet the eligibility criteria set out below:

1. Age requirement

Applicants must be between 2 August 2008 – 30 August 2010.

2. Educational background

Applicants should be currently enrolled in year 10 or year 11. A strong academic record is important, but we also value a demonstrated commitment to learning and activities beyond the classroom.

UWC schools and colleges primarily use English as the language of instruction. While fluency is not required at the time of application, applicants are advised to attain a basic proficiency in English and demonstrate a willingness to improve their language skills.

The deadline for submitting the online application along with the required eligibility documents is Sunday 11 January 2026, by 23.59 hours Cyprus time. Our online portal will be automatically closed for applications after this time.

Required documents

All applicants will be asked to upload the required documents listed below, to prove eligibility, on the online portal for their application to be valid, before the application deadline. The documents can be in English, Turkish or Greek. No translation is required. Please note that if any of the documents are missing at the time you submit your application, this will be considered as ineligible.

  1. School report/transcript for 2025-2026 academic year, if available at the time of application. If this is not available please upload this document.
  2. School Report/Transcript for four academic years: 2024-2025, 2023-2024, 2022-2023, 2021-2022.
  3. Your identity card or your passport.
  4. One of your parents’ identity card or passport issued by the Republic of Cyprus. 
  5. A recent photograph of yourself.

Please note that if you have attended school abroad you will need to provide evidence proving attendance at schools in Cyprus for a total of 5 years cumulatively. This should include the current academic year.

Please also note that you are only allowed to submit one application per academic year to study at UWC, even if you are eligible to apply via more than one UWC national committee.


General Conditions for All Applicants 

Scholars will be selected to study at a UWC school college for the period of 1 September 2026 and 31 August 2028.
