Nicosia, 18 March 2025
The EU Scholarship Programme for Cypriot Youth at UWC has concluded its selection process this year, nominating 18 young Cypriots to attend a UWC school and study the IB programme from 2025 to 2027. With this cohort of 18 students, the total number of full scholarships awarded under the programme has now reached 82 scholarships.
The selected scholars will attend:
- UWC Adriatic (Italy)
- UWC Maastricht (Netherlands)
- UWC Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
- UWC Robert Bosch College (Germany)
- UWC Red Cross Nordic (Norway)
The EU Scholarship Programme for Cypriot Youth at UWC aims to contribute to building a bridge of mutual understanding between Cypriot communities. Funded by the European Union under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and implemented by UWC through UWC Cyprus, this is a two-year programme offering all-inclusive scholarships to Cypriot students aged 15-17, who will study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) alongside peers from across the globe.
This year’s scholarship selection saw impressive demand, reaching the furthest corners of Cyprus and attracting a diverse and strong pool of applicants, highlighting the growing interest among Cypriot youth in opportunities promoting dialogue, cooperation, and international understanding.
In addition to scholarships, the programme will offer a UWC Short Course this summer, bringing together Cypriot and international youth for an intensive educational experience centered on leadership, dialogue, peacebuilding, and reconciliation. Furthermore, a series of one-day UWC Experience activities will be organized in the coming weeks, providing even more young people across the island with opportunities to engage directly with UWC values.
